Factory Support Technician (Hourly) Location: Hayward, CA (on-site) About 1X We build humanoid robots that work alongside people to solve labor shortages and create abundance. Role Overview We are seeking a Factory Support Technician to support day-to-day site operations and facilities execution at 1X. This role focuses on hands-on facilities support, basic handyman/trade work, workspace setup, and occasional lifting/moving of heavy items to keep our site safe, functional, and ready for rapid growth. You Will - Support daily facilities operations to keep the site running smoothly - Perform basic handyman and light trade work (minor repairs, installs, adjustments) - Assist with workspace setup and reconfigurations (desks, chairs, storage, meeting rooms) - Receive, stage, and move deliveries, equipment, and supplies - Follow site safety procedures, PPE requirements - Participate in safety walkthroughs, inspections, and corrective actions - Maintain clear egress paths, fire safety equipment access, and general site readiness - Help maintain organized storage areas and common spaces - Support simple preventative maintenance tasks (filters, basic replacements, checks) - Identify issues proactively and escalate building/safety concerns when needed - Assist with vendor coordination onsite (access support, staging, walkthroughs) - Occasionally move heavier items using safe lifting practices and proper equipment/assistance Facilities & Site Support Areas - Office setup and day-to-day site support - Basic maintenance and repair work - Furniture and equipment moves - Storage organization and inventory support - Deliveries, staging, and shipping/receiving support - Light construction support (mounting, patching, hardware installs) Scope will be assigned based on experience and may evolve as the site scales. Must Have: - 2+ years of experience in facilities support, maintenance, warehouse, construction support, or a hands-on operations role - Comfort using basic tools (hand tools, drills, ladders, etc.) - Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail - Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (Ops, EHS, Engineering, Admin) - Comfortable working in a fast-moving, changing environment - Ability to lift and move items up to ~50 lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier items with assistance/equipment - Ability to work flexible hours as needed for site needs, deliveries, or urgent issues - Occasional overtime or off-hours support may be required (planned or emergency) Nice to Have: - Experience in manufacturing, lab, or hardware environments - Familiarity with basic safety practices and site organization - Experience supporting vendors or coordinating service work onsite - Experience with pallet jacks, dollies, or light material handling equipment Benefits & Compensation - Hourly Range: $25-$32/HR - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with company match - Paid time off and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer 1X is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
