Global Supply Manager, Motors & Magnets | Supply Chain Location: Hayward, CA (on-site) About 1X We build humanoid robots that work alongside people to solve labor shortages and create abundance. Role Overview We are seeking a Global Supply Manager to lead sourcing and supply chain strategy for motors, gearboxes, and magnetic assemblies that enable the performance, scalability, and high-volume production of our next-generation humanoid robots. You Will - Develop and execute sourcing strategies for motors, gearboxes, magnets, and related assemblies - Identify, evaluate, and onboard global suppliers that meet quality, cost, and delivery standards - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to secure favorable agreements - Collaborate with engineering to ensure components meet performance and quality specifications - Support cost optimization initiatives while ensuring high reliability - Conduct supplier benchmarking and stay informed on technology and pricing trends - Monitor supplier performance metrics and ensure compliance with contractual terms - Implement risk mitigation strategies, including alternate sourcing and diversification - Provide technical support for DFM efforts with a focus on electromechanical systems - Manage supplier audits and drive improvements where necessary - Work closely with manufacturing, operations, and quality teams to ensure integration Must Have - Proven experience in sourcing or procurement of motors, magnetics, or electromechanical components - Deep technical understanding of motor and magnet design and manufacturing processes - Strong negotiation skills and a track record of managing supplier relationships - Experience conducting supplier audits and implementing corrective actions - Familiarity with ERP systems and sourcing tools - Data-driven approach to problem-solving and cost analysis - Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration experience - Chinese proficiency is a plus Benefits & Compensation - Salary Range: $145,000 – $222,000 - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with company match - Paid time off and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer 1X is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
