Role

We are looking for a Principal Software Development Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Sr. Director of Software Engineering. You will bring your vision and passion to a team that built the world’s largest cloud security platform from the ground up, helping us scale our multitenant architecture and global footprint to serve over 15 million users across 185 countries.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

• Partner with Product Management to drive detailed product requirements

• Define software design specifications and implement high-quality code using test-driven methodology

• Identify opportunities to refactor existing code for maintainability while taking ownership of complex customer issue resolution

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams including security, UI, platform, and analytics

• Lead and mentor a group of junior engineers, providing technical guidance and assisting with development details

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• Extensive experience developing large-scale cloud networking and security applications with proficiency in C, Go, or Python

• Deep knowledge of networking protocols and services including DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, and SSL/TLS

• Expertise in firewall policy enforcement, traffic forwarding rules, and cloud networking components such as Transit Gateway and NATGW

• Proven experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP networking and database services

• Strong background in utilizing Pub Sub mechanisms and cloud SDKs for complex software solutions

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Familiarity or direct experience developing security firewall features within a SaaS environment

• Proven track record of building for cloud scale and performance using auto-scaling groups for dynamic workload traffic profiles

• Experience leveraging cloud-native infrastructure services to enhance platform architecture
