This is a full-time, permanent role for our site based in Bury St Edmunds. As a Transport Operator you’ll be supporting in delivering day to day transport operation tasks. Shift times for this role are Monday-Friday (Nights - 9pm – 6am) 

Pay, benefits and more: 

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £29,133 per annum plus 25%-night shift allowance.

What you’ll do on a typical day: 

• Co-ordinate the transport operations on site and on customer premises to meet both customer and company expectations. 

• Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business. 

• Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner. 

• First line of communication for the driver workforce. 

• Despatch of trunks to other depots  

• 10-night network route to car dealerships 

• Receipt of inbound trunks.  

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Essential: Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders with different personalities.  

• Essential: Be able to pick up systems and procedures confidently. Be able adapt to various challenges or situations that may arise.  

• Essential: Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook. 

• Highly Desirable - previous transport operator or planning experience.
