Role Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to create exceptional and detailed architectural application design and provide thought leadership and enable delivery teams to provide exceptional client engagement and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver solution architecture for Payments programmes including definition of architecture decisions, delivering Architecture and design documents, seeking approval via Governance forums
• Analyze the business requirements and translate to solution architecture and design, applying the best practices for robust architecture and design principles.
• Guiding the end to end delivery of the programme and providing assurance for the solutions delivered
• Lead decision-making on strategic technology choices for key functional capabilities, & lead establishment of the architectural definitions, which enable these choices to be implemented.
• Develop & maintain Enterprise Architecture artefacts, including Global Payments roadmaps, which clearly express the target architecture & the investment required to achieve it, in conjunction with Domain Lead Architects.
• Lead teams of solution architects to focus on particular high priority areas for payments transformation.

Skills Required:

• Deep knowledge of payments market gained within a tier 1 Financial Institution or Consultancy Practice
• Knowledge of industry "best practices" and demonstrated thought leadership on significant payments industry issues
• Profound knowledge of payment processes, standards and systems in banking, such as SWIFT, LVP, ISO20022, Clear2Pay,
• Understanding of rules and regulations around PSD2, Open Banking, Ring fencing, CRS.
• Expertise in architecting solutions for one or more of Domestic and International Payments schemes
• BACS, CHAPS, SEPA, FPS
• Experience in Payment Engines like Fundtech, GPP, Dove Tail, Misys will be advantage
• Skilled in systems integration methodologies and experience in delivery of payment business solutions
• PaaS platform experience either on AWS or Azure or GCP
• CI/CD, DevOps and agile delivery
• Cloud Native Architectures, Cloud foundry, serverless architectures
• Experience of change management (methodologies & delivery)
• Understanding latest trends within the payment industry
• Breadth and depth of capabilities around Data, Security, Integration
• Strong awareness of new architecture models utilizing Cloud, Microservices, APIs etc
• Good understanding of new technology choices available in industry
• Deep understanding of the principles & practice of Enterprise Architecture.
• Capability and expertise in architecture tools and methodologies like RSA, RTC, EA etc

Qualifications:

• Relevant postgraduate education
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Banking and financial service industry in developing/delivering/implementing payment solutions
• Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in Solution Architecture and Consulting solutions in payments.
