Consults with team leaders and subject matter experts on communication content and plans. Finds creative ways to tell Vanguard’s story across multiple channels and assists with media inquiries under supervision of senior team members. Supports strategic communications efforts and builds credibility as a junior counselor by mastering core skills, demonstrating professionalism, and delivering results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to development and execution of integrated communications plans that advance and protect Vanguard’s brand among key audiences.
  • Acts as the team’s “eyes and ears” by continually scanning the news, industry landscape, and competitor moves to surface developments that shape the team’s strategy and decision‑making. Proactively contributes well‑researched, insightful ideas to help advance Vanguard’s brand in partnership with senior team members.
  • Supports message development and collaborates with partners; drafts articles, social media copy, and briefing materials in line with brand standards that is clear, engaging, concise, and tailored to relevant audiences and platforms.
  • Executes established measurement processes by inputting, maintaining, and verifying the accuracy of data used in reports. Prepares initial report drafts and summary materials to support transparency and keep managers and business partners informed.
  • Assists in media relations efforts, including monitoring coverage, preparing news analyses/summaries, and engaging with select trade media under supervision of senior team members.
  • Ensures accuracy and compliance with established templates and guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborates with partners across Marketing, Communications, and the business; positions self as a team player and seeks developmental opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field strongly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three years related work experience. Public relations or media relations experience preferred.
