About the Role
We're seeking a strategic merchandising leader to own content and shopping experience strategy for our Rest of Retail and Convenience categories in Japan. You'll combine data-driven insights with creative storytelling to drive consumer engagement and conversion across high-impact marketing campaigns.

What You'll Do Merchandising & Content Strategy

Lead local merchandising and content strategy for Rest of Retail and Convenience categories
-
Craft compelling consumer narratives using performance data, seasonality insights, and market trends
-
Optimize the end-to-end shopping journey to drive engagement and conversion

Campaign Ownership & Execution
-
Own merchandising execution for high-impact marketing campaigns from planning through delivery
-
Manage campaign prioritization, planning calendars, and timelines in partnership with Sales and Marketing

Drive high-quality execution while contributing to longer-term strategic initiatives

Performance & Insights
-
Define success metrics and continuously track campaign and category performance

Generate actionable insights to improve consumer engagement, conversion, and shopping experience

Use data to identify opportunities to innovate and scale best practices

Cross-Functional Leadership
-
Serve as key leader aligning Operations, Sales, Strategy & Planning, Marketing, Legal, Product, and Global Merchandising teams
-
Influence and coordinate senior stakeholders across functions to ensure strategic alignment
-
Drive execution excellence through clear communication and collaborative leadership
What You'll Need Required Qualifications:
- *7+ years of experience in e-commerce, retail, marketplace, or consumer-facing businesses
- Demonstrated ownership of merchandising, growth, or content-related initiatives
- *Strong analytical capabilities: SQL proficiency and experience using data to drive decisions and prioritization
- *Fluent in English and Japanese with ability to communicate effectively with senior, cross-functional stakeholders

Experience leading merchandising strategy, content optimization, or campaign execution in fast-paced, consumer environments

Proven ability to translate insights into clear strategies, execution plans, and business recommendations
