About the Role Marketplace is a team within the Rides Lat Am Central Operations organization, dedicated to optimizing our operations. Earners and riders are the people who connect in our marketplace-and we manage both sides, ensuring competitive pricing and accurate pick-up times for our riders, while also guaranteeing equitable earnings and optimal utilization for our drivers. Our goal is to strike the right balance between growth and profitability; this requires judgment to make difficult trade-offs, blending algorithms with human ingenuity, and the ability to create simplicity from complexity.
As the Marketplace Allocation and Core-Pricing Lead, you will be the primary architect of our structural pricing strategy across Lat Am. You are the "Chief Arbitrator" of the marketplace, navigating high-stakes trade-offs across all stakeholders. In this role, you will influence through excellence, using best-in-class frameworks and economic modeling to guide Global Tech and Regional Leadership toward the right strategic choices. You will be the primary liaison with Product teams, translating regional constraints into the technical features that define our structural pricing and investment allocation.

What the Candidate Will Need:

  • *Architect the Strategic Framework: Design the overarching logic and decision-making frameworks for core pricing in Lat Am. You will define "what good looks like" for our marketplace, ensuring our pricing models balance rider affordability with driver sustainability.
  • *Arbitrate Complex Trade-offs: Act as the lead strategist in resolving the tension between growth and profitability. You will provide the data-backed recommendations that help leadership decide where to lean in with investments and where to prioritize margin.
  • *Bridge the Gap with Global Tech: Serve as the primary regional voice to Global Product and Engineering teams. You will translate Lat Am's unique market nuances into technical requirements, influencing the global roadmap for structural pricing features and automated allocation tools.
  • *Design Investment Logic: Develop the methodologies for how we allocate large-scale incentives. You will ensure that capital is deployed not just based on volume, but on sophisticated models of elasticity and long-term marketplace health.
  • *Synthesize Complexity into Strategy: Transform vast datasets and complex algorithmic behaviors into clear, executive-level narratives. You will enable regional leaders to make informed decisions by creating "simplicity from complexity."
  • *Drive Modeling Excellence: Set the standard for economic modeling within the team. You will guide Operations Managers in building high-fidelity simulations that predict the impact of pricing changes on the broader ecosystem.
  • *Influence through Evidence: Build high-trust relationships with cross-functional partners (Finance, Marketing, and City Leads) by using rigorous logic and best-in-class frameworks to align the organization behind a unified marketplace strategy.
  • *Lead and Elevate High-Performing Talent: Manage a team of elite Operations Managers, acting as a "force multiplier" for their work. You will challenge their thinking, sharpen their modeling rigor, and ensure their insights are translated into high-impact strategic recommendations.
  • *Cultivate a Culture of Rigor: Foster an environment that prizes intellectual honesty and analytical excellence. You will mentor the team in "creating simplicity from complexity," ensuring that even our most sophisticated technical work is accessible and actionable for the broader business.
  • Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in strategy, operations, consulting, product/tech, or growth-focused roles.

  • Robust technical skills and analytical thinking: Intermediate SQL required, ability to scope and guide complex analyses/models

  • Strong business judgment, analytical depth, and ability to synthesize data to inform strategy and drive decision-making.

  • Skilled at driving alignment across functions and influencing without authority.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leadership.

  • Demonstrated experience managing individual contributors and scaling or developing teams.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing initiatives across multiple markets or geographies.

  • Proven ability to set strategic vision, define initiatives and OKRs, and build, develop, and lead high-performing teams.

  • Advanced analytical capabilities, including knowledge of statistics and proven proficiency in SQL and Python.
