About the Role

Engineering at Uber means building for real-world impact under real-world constraints. As a Senior Service Now Developer, you will move the digital world to support the real one, designing systems that power the employee journeys of thousands of Uberites globally. This isn't just about configuration; it's about solving messy, high-impact problems in a fast-changing environment where performance and scale are critical.

You'll need to navigate the ambiguity of evolving AI capabilities like Now Assist while maintaining rigorous architectural governance. We are looking for someone who stays calm under the pressure of enterprise-scale demands, thinks in systems, and has the grit to work through technical debt and legacy complexity. If you are energized by the challenge of turning complex employee service processes into intuitive, automated experiences, this is where you'll grow.

  • What You'll Do
  • Build and Maintain at Scale: Design, develop, and optimize end-to-end solutions across HRSD,WSD and custom apps, ensuring our systems directly support how our global team moves and works.- Navigate AI Frontiers: Deploy and tune Now Assist and Generative AI capabilities to drive self-service, making smart decisions with imperfect information to balance innovation with safety.- Unblock Complex Journeys: Solve high-impact problems within Employee Onboarding and Lifecycle Events, often without a clear starting point, to create seamless transitions for every Uber employee.- Champion Excellence: Lead technical workshops and conduct code reviews to ensure upgrade safety and architectural health, even when time is tight and stakes are high.- Own the Integration: Build and maintain robust integrations between Service Now and enterprise systems like Oracle HCM and JIRA, owning the work from initial design to production debugging.- Collaborate and Influence: Partner across HR, IT, and platform teams to ship practical solutions at speed, navigating internal complexity and stakeholder needs.- Mentor and Grow: Raise the bar for the team by mentoring developers and leading the adoption of AI-powered developer tools to improve delivery speed and quality.
  • Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of hands-on development and architecture experience on enterprise-scale Service Now implementations.
  • Proficiency in Service Now Employee Workflows, specifically HRSD (Case Management, Onboarding) and Workplace Service Delivery (WSD).
  • Strong experience with JavaScript, Glide API, and Service Now scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes).
  • Experience designing and implementing integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and Flow Designer.
  • Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CIS - HRSD certification.
  • Experience implementing Service Now ITSM and CMDB process for large enterprises
  • Experience governing "citizen development" by establishing guardrails and reusable components for low-code users.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools (AI-assisted coding, debugging) within your daily engineering workflow.
  • Background in mentoring mid-level engineers and leading technical initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Systems thinking mindset with experience operating applications under strict security and compliance requirements.
