Who we’re looking for
The Toyota Financial Services Technology Operations Center is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer – Data Platforms.
Reporting to the Manager of SRE Departments, the individual in this role will be focus strengthen our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) capabilities across a diverse data platforms and pipeline/framework ecosystem. This role blends data engineering expertise with reliability, automation, and observability practices to ensure our data flows are resilient, scalable, and continuously improving. You’ll support Python‑based data pipelines, Informatica for data transformation, and Snowflake for cloud data warehousing. You’ll also play a central role in building robust monitoring and alerting frameworks, including deep integration with Dynatrace.
What you’ll be doing

Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability for data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.

Build and optimize Dynatrace dashboards, alerts, custom metrics, and integrations to ensure proactive detection of issues.

Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, and long‑term remediation efforts.
-
Improve system reliability through automation, performance tuning, and resiliency best practices.
-
Reduce operational toil by identifying and automating repetitive tasks.
-
Support, troubleshoot, and enhance Python‑based data pipelines/frameworks.
-
Work with Informatica Power Center/Cloud to design, optimize, and maintain ETL workflows.
-
Manage and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and loading into Snowflake.
-
Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and performance.
-
Develop and maintain job scheduling and orchestration using Autosys and Airflow.
-
Build automation for deployments, validations, and operational workflows.
-
Optimize pipelines for data and ETL processes.
-
Build and Maintain components required to Automate operational workflows and reduce toil using Python or equivalent scripting language.
What you bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
-
Solid understanding of SRE concepts: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident response.
-
8+ years of experience in SRE, data engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
-
Strong proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and tooling.
-
Hands‑on experience with Informatica Power Center.
-
Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data‑loading patterns.
-
Strong experience with Dynatrace, including:
Setting up dashboards, alerts, and SLOs
-
Creating custom metrics and integrations
-
Monitoring distributed systems and data pipelines
-
Solid understanding of observability concepts (metrics, logs, traces) and incident management.
Added bonus if you have

Experience with Autosys, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.

Strong SQL skills and experience with large‑scale data systems.
