Location Specific Information:

We are now looking for Senior Finance Coordinator – Payments (Hybrid) in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Discover Impactful Work:

This role will be based in the accounts payable department responsible for processing international payments worldwide in a timely and efficient manner, targeting for excellence and operational optimization.

Main Duties:

The main focus of the Principal Finance Coordinator (Payments) role is to supervise small accounting team and to ensure organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements. Requirements also include to ensure timely preparation and review of all required regulatory filings, to advice in annual budgeting and prepare accounting reports for executive leadership. The Principal, also reviews work submitted by accountants and manages accounting close processes. Performs analysis on organizational or business unit financial and accounting metrics for presentation to leadership. May spend a portion of time performing the work of those they supervise. The function also assists with management decisions and activities.

Essential Functions:

• Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.

• Identifies exposures and recommends corrective action to management.

• Monitors process controls to ensure compliance with SOX including internal controls.

• Responds to information requests from staff at all levels and all functions within PPD.

• Completes special projects as directed.

• Prepares reports to management summarizing activities.

• Coordinates responses to audit requests timely with accurate and complete support.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification or last year in process of acquiring Finance/Economics degree.

Experience:

• Experience with international payments or treasury for 2 or more years will be considered an advantage.
• Understanding of the entire payment life cycle (creation/reconciliation/refund).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Good organizational and communications skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Capable of handle critical tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Flexible and able to prioritize workload to meet changing business needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Resourceful with Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Previous experience with ERP system (Oracle preferred).
• Capable of conducting payment related activities following the established process.
