About the Role
As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you will do meaningful work that makes a positive global impact, helping bring our Mission to life, enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. We are seeking a Data & AI Analytics Specialist to strengthen the analytical foundation supporting Search (SEO & SEM) and cross-channel marketing measurement. This role is ideal for an analytical problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity, works directly with complex datasets, and owns analysis end to end—from raw data to actionable insights. Operating at the intersection of analytics, data engineering, AI, and marketing optimization, this role focuses on building reliable data models, validating performance data, and applying advanced analytics to understand and optimize growth, efficiency, and customer behavior across channels.
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain production-quality SQL queries and lightweight data models (facts, dimensions, consistent metrics) to support reporting, experimentation, and ad-hoc analysis
- Apply strong analytical ownership by reasoning directly on raw & modeled data, validating and documenting results, and independently exploring ambiguous questions through curiosity-driven, hypothesis-based analysis
- Seek opportunities for AI/automation within the search and marketing analytics function, using SQL, Python, Excel macros, or scripting to reduce manual effort and improve repeatability
- Perform data validation & contribute incremental enhancements to existing data pipelines, transformations, and schemas, improving reliability, clarity, and scalability to ensure trust in performance reporting
- Perform trend decomposition and forecasting to separate seasonality from true performance changes and inform planning and investment decisions
- Support cross-channel and journey-based measurement, helping evolve attribution and performance understanding beyond traditional models
- Partner closely with marketing stakeholders to translate ambiguous, loosely defined questions into structured analytical approaches and clear outputs
- Embed AI-driven insights directly into Power BI dashboards, including: automated anomaly detection and trend alerts, forecasting and scenario modeling and natural-language summaries or explanations of metrics
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree plus 4+ years of experience in marketing analytics, data engineering, applied data science, or related field
- Strong technical proficiency in SQL and Python or R, with experience working in large cloud data warehouse environments (e.g., Big Query, Snowflake, Databricks)
- Foundational understanding of data modeling concepts, including fact vs. dimension tables, grain, joins, and metric consistency
- Experience performing data QA, reconciliation, and validation in real-world reporting environments
- Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces, where questions evolve and clarity is built through analysis
- Experience building and scaling AI/automation-enabled analytics solutions using orchestration tools and BI platforms (e.g., Power Automate, scripting frameworks, Power BI), including predictive outputs and intelligent alerts
- Experience working with marketing analytics and BI tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Power BI, Looker)
- Solid understanding of digital marketing fundamentals and metrics, including CPA, ROAS, CVR, attribution, segmentation, and channel performance
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BI tools, GitLab/GitHub-based analytics workflows, and modern analytics engineering practices
- Exposure to marketing automation platforms, experimentation frameworks, or advanced analytics tooling
Key Attributes for Success
- Analytical and curious, with a strong focus on data correctness and a drive to dig deeper and proactively solve problems
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate across business areas and with executive leadership
