Job Profile: PLC/HMI/SCADA Engineer Experience: 5-7 Years
Location: Mahape, Maharashtra, India
Company: Lauritz Knudsen (Unit of Schneider Electric)Job Summary:
A highly motivated and experienced PLC/HMI/SCADA Engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on experience in the design, development, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of control system principles, PLC programming languages, HMI/SCADA software, and communication protocols. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver robust and efficient automation solutions for various industrial applications. The engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of automation projects, from conceptualization to final handover and support.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
- Develop detailed electrical and control system design specifications based on project requirements.
- Design and program PLC logic using various programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text, Sequential Function Chart) for different PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric).
- Develop and implement communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC, etc.
- Commissioning and Testing:
- Plan and execute site commissioning activities for PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
- Perform thorough testing and validation of control system functionality, including I/O checks, loop testing, and sequence of operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any hardware or software issues encountered during commissioning.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation) during the commissioning phase.
- Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide technical support for installed automation systems, including remote and on-site troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve PLC, HMI, and SCADA system malfunctions and implement effective solutions.
- Perform system upgrades, modifications, and expansions as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of proven experience in the design, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems in industrial automation environments.
- Strong proficiency in at least one major PLC programming platform (e.g., M200 PLC S71200, Schneider Electric Unity Pro/Eco Struxure Machine Expert).
- Hands-on experience with developing HMI/SCADA applications using software such as Siemens WinCC/TIA Portal WinCC OA, Wonderware In Touch/System Platform, AVEVA (formerly Schneider Electric) CitectSCADA/Plant SCADA.
- Willingness to travel for project commissioning and support activities as required.
