Position Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, accountable individual to fill the role of Facilities Engineer supporting the Facilities Operations Group. As a Facilities Engineer at SAS, you’ll be directly responsible for maintaining utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. Facility equipment are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day support of operational and maintenance issues of site utility or supporting equipment

  • Maintaining a technical focus on capacity management, problem solving, root cause analysis, engineering design, cost estimating, financial management, project management, and system documentation.

  • Working to integrate reliability focus and risk analysis to include FMEA'S, root cause analysis, design, commissioning, training, and 8D problem solving methods.

  • Developing and reviewing operations and maintenance procedures/programs with team to ensure use of best practices.

  • Being available to Operations Team during and after normal business hours to assist with technical system issues. Assist/lead in troubleshooting and identifying countermeasures of system operational issues

  • Forecasting system capacity needs based on current and future demand projections. Develop plans to accommodate projected system demand needs. Identify capacity concerns, and analyze data to predict utility/chemical use

  • Forecasting associated costs and managing expenditures for new construction and/or sustaining operations and report deviations to management.

  • Innovating and implementing cost reduction projects that reduce operating and maintenance cost of responsible systems.

  • Successfully interfacing with internal customer organizations and maintaining effective communication.

  • Review and analyze data for equipment/systems to ensure they are running within specifications

  • Understand and apply 5S methodology in work spaces and processes to increase efficiency and safety

  • Incorporate and standardize best practices into site specifications, standards, and procedures

  • Seek out innovative concepts/technologies and drive to implementation

  • Assist with system design, construction, startup/commissioning

  • Create and modify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • 3+ years of experience in facilities, mechanical systems, chemical abatement systems, or HVAC design and construction highly desired

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies

  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of chemical engineering principles such as acid/base reaction chemistry, mass transfer, mass and energy balances, and solubility and scaling.

  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems including pumps, pneumatics, fans, instrumentation, air handling systems, process piping, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, and fluid dynamics is a benefit.

  • Exhibit commitment to a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment

  • Be proficient with Microsoft Windows based applications

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills for assessing problems and developing corrective actions

  • Proven ability to take initiative and drive for results

  • Possess excellent time management and priority setting skills while having the ability to effectively advance multiple activities simultaneously and enable on-time project delivery

  • Have ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships

  • Inclusively and collaboratively solve problems with of input from all disciplines, teams and stakeholders

  • Demonstrate strong customer service orientation and ability to take ownership for issue resolution

  • Be able to interface professionally and effectively with all levels of management

  • Have the ability to create construction drawings, details, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow diagrams (PFD), etc.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License or Engineer In Training (EIT) preferred

  • Project Management experience & Project Management certification (PMP) a plus.
