Salesforce is looking for a Manager of Public Affairs and Strategic Relations to oversee our stakeholder engagement program in Washington, D.C. This role will manage, execute, and grow the operational aspects of Salesforce's third party partner and coalition efforts, directly supporting the public policy and advocacy work.
Key Responsibilities
-
Manage the execution of Salesforce’s stakeholder engagement strategy to support primarily U.S. federal and state policy goals, including maintaining the plan to map potential allies, opponents, validators, and messengers.

Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with key advocacy organizations, think tanks, independent experts, and trade groups.

Represent Salesforce in external forums with third parties, such as briefings with partners, conferences, and private roundtables.

Execute tactics to build and strengthen Salesforce’s profile with key third-party stakeholders.

Partner with experts and organizations in areas of policy alignment on core public policy issues to advance Salesforce’s policy objectives.
Experience (7-10 years):
-
Extensive background in executing advocacy, public policy, trade association, business development, or coalition-building initiatives.
-
Proven experience managing high-stakes third-party engagement efforts and coalitions around complex public-policy issues.
-
Demonstrated understanding of the tech sector.
-
Familiarity with the operational aspects of advocacy campaigns within federal and/or policy environments.
-
Ability to work effectively and navigate competing incentives across political and ideological lines.
Skills & Competencies:
-
Exceptional relationship manager and convener, with a track record of cultivating trust with senior leaders in civil society, government, and industry.

Highly effective operating within a small, entrepreneurial, and rapidly growing team.
-
Strong tactical execution skills: able to interpret the stakeholder map, identify immediate opportunities, and implement practical engagement plans.
-
Natural communicator: adept at tailoring outreach and translating technical or policy concepts into clear, customized narratives for external partners.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive presence.
-
Demonstrated ability to navigate and make sound judgments within complex political and policy environments.
-
Highly organized and systems-minded, proficient with CRM tools, tracking, and dashboards for managing a complex portfolio.

International public affairs experience is preferred but not required.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions.
The typical base salary range for this position is $117,400 - $177,600 annually.
The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
