Job Description:

Engineer in Trainee (EIT)

City, Country- Hawthorn/ Melbourne- Australia

Rockwell Automation recruits Engineering Graduates (Freshers or less than 12 months experience) with the title of Engineer in Trainee (EIT). You will undergo a structured 1-year training programme. This programme includes classroom trainings and job rotations in multiple responsibilities. This programme entitles you to choose your career path. You can do this by choosing one of the departments you have undergone in the job rotations.

You will initially report to the Regional Training Business Manager, AP. You will have a hybrid schedule, working in Australia. After completion of the training programme, you will report to your functional manager. This will depend on your career path selection in the rotation programme.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Show proactive participation and a continuous learning during the first year of structured training.

  • Use trainings and job rotation opportunities, by developing and demonstrating your capabilities in the rotation programme

  • After the 1-year training program, you will choose any of the following functions as your career path and you will place yourself in that function.

  • Automation Project Engineering

  • Automation Field Services Engineering

  • Cyber & Network Project Engineer

  • Manufacturing Operations Management/Information Solutions Engineer

  • Technical Proposal Engineer

  • After choosing the function, your roles and responsibilities may vary based on the function you chose as your career path, some of those major responsibilities may include the following…

  • Support manufacturing industries in their innovate, Design, Operate & Maintain lifecycle phases.

  • Visit to manufacturing industries to delivery projects or services

  • Develop & Delivery Digital Transformation solution to manufacturing industries

  • Cybersecurity & Network solutions to industries for secure & sustainable operations

  • Automation products & software project programming and commissioning

  • Automation products & software services including troubleshooting and maintenance

  • Automation / MES Project Development

The Essentials

You Will Have:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in any of the following responsibilities: Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics
  • Fresh graduate / Less than 12 months experience in the field
  • Knowledge of core subjects with basic knowledge of Digital Electronics and Basics of Electricals & Programming Languages
  • Experience with Computer Science fundamentals and programming languages e.g. C, C
  • Proficieny in communication
  • Can analyze complex information and looking for data to support decisions
  • Collaborate with teams & Adapt to changes in technologies.
  • Demonstrates excellent critical reasoning abilities
  • Listening & Collaboration
  • Adopt and demonstrate cultural values of organization
  • After completing training, candidates will be expected to visit customer sites for industrial automation project implementation
  • Candidates must be available to join the organization within 60 days (tentatively by 15th March 2026)
  • The role requires the ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
