Job Description:

As a Network Application Developer and Tester, you will work on short‑term projects for Rockwell Automation, focusing on fixing errors in embedded network communication applications written in C and developing automated functional tests in Python. You will collaborate with global teams.

You will be part of the development group responsible for the IP stack within a specialized internal toolkit. This toolkit is used across Rockwell Automation as part of the Common Solution, providing a unified, reusable communication layer shared by multiple product lines. Your work will therefore contribute directly to core technology used company‑wide.

You will report to TEAM LEAD, RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT.

Your Responsibilities:

• Find and eliminate errors in embedded network communication applications in C.
• Develop intelligent automated functional tests in Python 3.
• Quickly navigate and understand existing codebases.
• Use debugging tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Independence in task execution at a senior engineer level.

The Essentials

You Will Have:

• Knowledge of C or C++.
• Routine Knowledge of Python (preferably Python 3).
• Knowledge of debugging tools.

The Preferred

You Might Also Have:

• 5+ years of experience with embedded development and optimization for size
• Experience with multiplatform development (Windows/Linux/HW platforms)
• Knowledge of CMake, Git, UML, and Jira.
• Experience with Agile development
• Knowledge of network communication and protocols (ISO/OSI model, BSD socket API)
• Experience with embedded environment (Raspberry Pi, Beagle Board, ...)
