About the Role

The Red Hat Open Shift Console team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in EMEA. Our team is responsible for the Open Shift web console and underlying services which provides the UI experience for all users of Red Hat Open Shift. We lead development of the Open Shift console that provides customers with a smooth and efficient interface into the design, development, and operation of their Open Shift clusters. For this role, we are seeking a passionate engineer to focus on ensuring the exceptional quality and reliability of these critical integrations. You will apply your software engineering expertise to design, build, and scale sophisticated automation frameworks and quality-focused tooling that are vital to our success.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust test automation frameworks in TypeScript and Cypress to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of Open Shift's cloud integrations
  • Ensure the ongoing stability and security of Open Shift Console by addressing high-priority bugs, handling CVEs, and performing necessary backports and rebases
  • Work closely with engineers on Red Hat Open Shift to become a contributor to both the upstream and downstream Red Hat Open Shift projects to deliver functionality
  • Interact with multiple teams within Red Hat as well as with the open source community
  • Use your excellent communication skills to communicate with other Red Hat Open Shift engineers, product managers, and management across the globe

What You Will Bring

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • Proficiency in at least one frontend programming language and framework, preferably Type

Script and React:

  • Demonstrable experience in designing and developing test automation frameworks or related tooling
  • Solid understanding of Linux/UNIX operating systems
  • Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman) and a strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a distributed, global team environment

Plus

  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems, especially Prow or Jenkins
  • Contributions to relevant open-source projects
