About the Job
- The Senior Program Manager
- Technical exercises expert judgment and leverages tools of automation to lead non-routine and complex programs, working to set and achieve objectives tied to functional targets.
The role may involve coordinating the activities of other team members and providing mentorship to newer staff. This position requires creative problem-solving to address program complexities and ensuring alignment with business goals.
The individual will also serve as a key liaison for cross-functional partnerships.
Depending on the organization this role is aligned to, the role may be responsible for internal and/or external client-facing initiatives.
Note: This role may come into contact with confidential or sensitive customer information requiring special treatment in accordance with Red Hat policies and applicable privacy laws.
What you’ll do
-
Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing LLMs (e.g., Google Gemini), as relevant, for tasks such as brainstorming solutions, deep research, summarizing technical documentation, drafting communications, summarizing complex technical information, and enhancing problem-solving efficiency across the development lifecycle.

Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies relevant to software development, proactively identifying opportunities to incorporate new AI capabilities into existing workflows and tooling.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI integration within the software development lifecycle, driving continuous improvement and innovation in engineering practices; share use cases for successful experiments with stakeholders for broader use.
Proactively leverage AI technologies to streamline workflows, simplify complexity, and enhance overall efficiency.

Lead the execution of multiple complex programs, ensuring successful delivery aligned with business objectives.

Mentor and guide junior team members, offering advice and oversight to ensure high-quality program execution.

Serve as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders, ensuring program alignment with customer expectations.

Manage program risks and employ creative solutions to overcome challenges.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver results, maintaining accountability for program outcomes.

Prepare and present executive-level reports and updates on program progress and outcomes.

Coordinate team activities and ensure that program tasks are completed on time and within scope.
What you’ll have
-
5 experience leading large-scale, complex technical programs in a fast-paced environment.
-
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and technical delivery models (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks).
-
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and influence without direct authority.
-
Experience managing risk, dependencies, and competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
-
Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
-
Proven ability to mentor and support team development.
-
Experience leveraging automation, data analytics, or AI-driven tools to improve program outcomes.
The following is considered a plus
-
Experience working in open source or enterprise software environments.

Familiarity with cloud technologies, Kubernetes, Open Shift, or enterprise infrastructure platforms.

PMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, Scrum Master).
-
Experience managing customer-facing or global programs.
-
Experience operating in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.
-
MBA or advanced degree in a technical or business discipline.
The salary range for this position is $118,600.00 - $195,680.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
