ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer’s Global Identity Security and Access Management (ISAM) team plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s digital assets, protecting everything from our innovative scientific research to our manufacturing operations, and ensuring the security of the data we rely on to serve patients worldwide. As part of our strategic commitment to enhancing security posture, the ISAM team is embarking on a multi-year modernization and transformation effort.

Strong identity security and access controls are vital to the security and operational resilience of Pfizer. We are seeking a back-end developer to play a key role in building secure, scalable, and high-performing identity services. This role requires deep technical expertise in back-end development, cloud-native services, and modern software design.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Identity Lifecycle Management and requires strong communication skills, and a strong drive for accountability, ownership, and pride in work.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs for identity and access management platforms.

  • Implement best practices for performance, scalability, security, and code quality.

  • Collaborate with front-end engineers, QA testers, and architects to deliver end-to-end solutions.

  • Participate in peer code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions.

  • Integrate applications with authentication, authorization, and directory services.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or related discipline.

  • 3 years of professional experience in back-end development.

  • Strong proficiency in one or more back-end languages/frameworks (.Net, JAVA, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python).

  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven design.

  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (OracleDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS and Azure).

  • Prior experience integrating legacy systems into Sail Point a bonus.

  • Experience in cybersecurity or identity and access management solutions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).

  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).

  • Ability to work collaboratively across various departments and teams, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
