This Senior engineer would be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable microservices using a combination of Java and Google cloud platform technology stack. This lead engineer will be leading a team of other developers all contributing to Ford’s next-gen eCommerce ecosystem

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, and QA, to design and develop a scalable microservices platform.
• Design, develop, and implement high-quality, reusable, and testable code that adheres to industry best practices and standards.
• Handle operational issues with little or no oversight.
• Actively review code to ensure the software quality and functional accuracy is maintained across the team.
• Motivated and equipped to learn the design and architecture of the product and participate in ceremonies that can influence both
• Lead, guide, and empower a team of skilled software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement through active code reviews, mentorship, and best practice evangelization

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 
• 12-15 years of experience in software development primarily focused on Java, Spring Boot and other open-source technologies
• 2-3 years experience with GCP products like Cloud run, Apigee, Pub-sub, Cloud tasks/schedulers and Google Kubernetes engine
• Experience in cloud technologies 
• Extensive hands-on experience in micro services using advanced Java concepts
• Expertise in Spring boot and Spring cloud frameworks
• Expertise with SQL and No-SQL databases including cloud native ones like Cloud SQL, Alloy DB, Big table and Big query
• Expertise in writing unit test cases using Junit, TestNG and RestAssured
• Experience with agile software development lifecycle including Scaled Agile
• Experience in utilizing Agile product management tools like JIRA
• Experience in collaborative tools like GitHub, Bitbucket etc.
• Experience in DevOps: Jenkins/Tekton etc.
• Experience with Infrastructure as code: Terraform
• Experience with AI tool sets like Github Co-pilot, LLM Models from Open AI, Google etc specifically around improvement in developer efficiency
