Do you want to take part in accelerating the networking solution for data-center across NVIDIA's product portfolio? NVIDIA Co-packaged optics group is seeking for a talented and dedicated student to perform their PhD research at the Technion on novel lasers for future interconnect products. The work will include design and modelling of new laser structures, participation in manufacturing of the lasers, and performing experimental characterization of lasers, as well as related photonic components and system-level testing. The candidate should be able to lead collaborate with other team members .
What you’ll be doing:

Perform research in semiconductor laser and photonics, including modelling, fabrication and experimental characterization.

Lead independent work under academic supervision, as well as collaborating with other engineers and scientists in the team.

Document experimental results in papers and reports, and present findings accurately and comprehensively.
What we need to see:
-
Student at final MSc stages or beginning of PhD studies, in the field of lasers, optics, photonics or related fields.

Availability to work at the Technion Lab or NVIDIA Labs in Yokneam.

Background courses in electro-optics and lasers is an advantage.
-
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams members.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:

Knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or other data analysis tools.

Hands-on lab experience and knowledge is laser physics, optics and fiber optics. Background in semiconductor fabrication.
