As a Systems Architect:

  • Level 5 (Staff) located in Aurora, CO, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
    This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
    This position is contingent upon clearance verification and transfer to the NG sponsored program as well as continued ability to maintain required clearance level.
    In the role, the Systems Architect would be responsible for interfacing with the users and sponsors and all other stakeholders in order to determine their evolving needs. Generating the highest level of system requirements, based on the users' needs and other constraints.
    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Interface with users, stakeholders, and sponsors to identify evolving needs and translate them into system requirements and actionable solutions.

  • Develop and manage systems engineering artifacts, including specifications, interface documents, use cases, and trade studies.

  • Lead the definition, communication, and implementation of desired system capabilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Solve system-level challenges by leveraging innovative tools such as Kubernetes, AWS/C2S, and Docker within Agile development practices.

  • Present technical concepts to diverse audiences and exercise technical leadership to drive mission success.

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance with an active Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph at time of application

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 12 years of professional experience

  • OR - Master's degree in a STEM field with 10 years of professional experience

  • OR - PhD in a STEM field with 8 years of professional experience

  • Experience presenting technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers

  • Experience in collaborating within an integrated team of systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions

  • Experience in identifying desired capabilities, defining those capabilities, communicating them to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts and users, and generating artifacts to document and manage the achievement of the desired capabilities

  • Experience as a technical leader

  • Experience technical writing and team building skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience in developing systems engineering and architecture artifacts (e.g., Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.)

  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS/C2S

  • Experience with Linux

  • Experience with Agile development Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design

  • Experience creating, developing and implementing solutions to address system level problems

  • Experience working with Docker containers and Helm charts

Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
