Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Assembler  – Level 1 to join our team in Saint Charles, MO. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

An organization within Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems, Cutting Edge Optronics is a leading provider of high-power laser diode arrays, high power pump modules and diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer capable of supplying unmounted diode bars, packaged laser diodes, DPSS modules, laser diode drivers and complete DPSS laser systems. Our diode laser-based products have become industry standards and are used in a wide variety of commercial and military applications.

This position requires a team oriented individual to perform tasks associated with the fabrication of laser diode bars, laser diode arrays or laser diode pumped gain modules.

In this job, you will:

  • Fabrication of laser diode bars

  • Fabrication of hard and/or soft solder mounted bar assemblies

  • Preparation of mechanical parts for laser diode array and subassembly builds

  • Laser diode array builds

  • Assembly and test of CW gain modules.

  • Responsibilities are subject to change dependent upon your personal experience/strengths and specific needs of Cutting Edge Optronics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.

  • No clearance required to start

  • Good fine motor skills

  • Willingness and capability to learn new tasks

  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with peers for training and work flow coordination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience related to the fabrication of laser diode bars and arrays or similar manufacturing experience

  • 2-year technical associate’s degree

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Quality experience
