VM Graphic Designer, Senior
Job Summary
The Senior Environmental Graphic Designer plays a strategic role in shaping the visual identity of Nordstrom’s store environments, with a focus on large-scale, branded, and campaign-driven projects. This role leads the development of graphic design concepts across physical and digital platforms, integrating 2D and 3D design to support marketing initiatives, scaled events, and customer experiences. The designer collaborates with cross-functional teams including VM Environmental Designers, Brand Creative, Marketing, and Digital to deliver cohesive, brand-aligned solutions that drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of graphic concepts for Nordstrom’s scaled events, campaigns, and digital assets.
- Develop cohesive branding systems for large-scale environmental projects, ensuring alignment with marketing and creative direction.
- Collaborate with Brand Creative and Marketing to deliver integrated visual packages across store environments and digital platforms.
- Design and implement wayfinding, navigation, and destination systems that enhance the customer journey.
- Apply advanced understanding of 3D spatial design to integrate graphics into physical environments.
- Create and present proposal decks and visual concepts to stakeholders across all levels.
- Produce detailed design drawings, vendor specifications, and production-ready files for fabrication and rollout.
- Customize designs for specific stores, regions, or events while maintaining brand consistency.
- Review and approve production proofs, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
- Contribute to multimedia and motion graphics projects, including animation, projection mapping, and interactive content.
- Drive innovation in digital and physical design to enhance customer engagement and elevate the brand experience.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital design, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in graphic or digital design, with a focus on environmental or retail design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop), Sketch Up, and motion design tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.).
- Strong understanding of 3D design, typography, layout, color theory, and storytelling.
- Experience with animation, motion graphics, projection mapping, and interactive media.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to lead projects independently and collaborate across disciplines.

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$80,000.00 - $132,000.00 Annual
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
