We’re seeking a Senior Java Engineering Developer (VP) for Deposits and Core banking team within the WM Product Tech super department, in WM Technology division at Morgan Stanley. Highly skilled technologist to join our dynamic team. The candidate would be responsible for designing, developing, and delivery of large-scale software applications.
Wealth Management Tech:
Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.
Software Engineering
- This is Vice President position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs within the firm’s WM Product Technology
- Deposits & Core Banking Division.

What you will do in the role

Hands on Technical Lead for one or more squads in deposits/core banking
-
Hands-on Senior Java developer
-
Guide and mentor developers
-
People management• Own architecture and design of applications
-
Collaborate with global team including business analysts to finalize requirements
-
Drive delivery and engineering excellence
-
Participate in innovation initiatives
-
Implement and ensure the team complies to SDLC best practices
-
Interface with external teams like Architecture and Security to adhere to firm standards and controls.
What you will bring to the role
We are looking for an 14+ years experienced senior technical lead for the development team for Deposits/Core Banking
-
Experience architecting and designing large scale distributed system
-
Development in Advanced Java and Spring framework
-
Development experience in messaging middleware like MQ, Kafka
-
Development using relational databases, SQL
-
Experience in CI/CD
-
Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills
-
Experience in troubleshooting applications using modern observability stack
-
Experience deploying and managing applications in Unix/Linux environment
-
Build scalable distributed systems
-
Adopt industry standard software frameworks
-
Experience with application integration, unit testing, automated testing, performance analysis
-
Experience in Agile development techniques and good understanding of build and release management principles including continuous integration and delivery.
Atleast 8+ years of relevant experience to perform this role.
Nice to have:

Experience working in Cloud infrastructure

Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
