We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in Trade Support & Service department to lead and scale global crypto trade support operations, ensuring the accurate, timely, and risk‑controlled processing of digital asset transactions while partnering closely with product front office, technology, risk, vendors and external market participants in a rapidly evolving market.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level within Client Service & Relationship Management, which is responsible for managing internal and external client relationships. We do this by engaging in client service activities, optimizing the client experience, and managing vendor/external business partner relationships.
Since 1935, Morgan Stanley has been a global leader in financial services, continuously evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and communities in more than 40 countries worldwide.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Oversee end‑to‑end crypto trade lifecycle support, including trade capture, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, and exception management, with a strong focus on control, resilience and fraud prevention.
- Maintain strong audit trails, and compliance with all supervisory controls.
- Provide Crypto subject‑matter expertise (SME) to CTB/Project teams as a stakeholder, while ensuring all changes comply with operational readiness, control standards, and training needs.
- Develop staff, lead initiatives, and manage deployment of resources, owning operational management tools such as work queues, coverage models, checklists, escalation paths, and calendars.
- Set direction and expectations for crypto trade support teams, defining training frameworks and ensuring effective transfer of subject‑matter expertise across regions and shifts.
- Contribute to business planning for the function, establish risk and contingency plans, and proactively identify, escalate, and remediate operational, regulatory, or client‑impacting issues.
- Build and manage strong relationships with Front Office, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and external counterparties, including exchanges, custodians, and liquidity providers.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Experience in digital assets, crypto trading operations, or emerging market infrastructure, with an understanding of the unique risks, controls, and regulatory considerations in this space.
- Proficiency with operational systems, reconciliation tooling, automation tools (PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.) and case management platforms (Salesforce) preferred.
- Must obtain Series 99 license if supervising a covered function.
- Strong relationship‑building skills, serving as a role model for client service and cross‑functional partnership.
- Ability to think commercially, with a clear understanding of how operational decisions, risks, and investments impact the business and budget.
- Experience managing teams in a high‑risk, high‑volume operational environment, with a demonstrated focus on controls, continuous improvement, and operational risk reduction.
- Culture carrier and role model, consistently demonstrating the Firm’s core values and positively influencing those around you.
- At least 10+ years of relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
