Business Overview

The Analytics & Data (A&D) organization is a key growth area within Morgan Stanley's Wealth Management Division, playing a critical role in the execution of the wider Wealth Management strategy. The team owns all the executive reporting, insights, and predictive modeling in support of Wealth Management business. The use of analytics and data will be a key driver in accelerating growth across client segments, enabling data-driven decision making and delivering the best client experience.

We are looking for an experienced professional to join the Analytics & Data organization who will be responsible for analytics for US Banks. The candidate will work with data in a hands-on capacity to provide analytics, insights, and business intelligence that will help decision making and strategy. They will be responsible for owning delivery of key reports to US-based team members and leadership. The ideal candidate will display a high-level of autonomy, curiosity about data, and the ability to determine timely solutions while also thinking strategically to drive business results.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Support US-based colleagues with reporting, insights generation, and process optimization/maintenance for US Banks. Focus areas will be performance measurement through KPI reporting, analytical deep dives, client profile analysis, segmentation, and ad hoc strategic requests.
  • Leverage data across disparate sources/formats to create and maintain new and innovative datasets and solutions while continuing to streamline existing processes to improve efficiency.
  • Create comprehensive and consistent reporting and visualization suites to enable and enhance regular reporting and benchmark creation.
  • Design and Develop efficient analytical solutions with focus on automation for new as well as existing processes.
  • Partner with Data Strategy, Infrastructure, and Tech teams to drive continuous improvement in processes and platforms, while establishing self as the SME that they seek input from on new initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in science/engineering/mathematics; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Data & Analytics (overall 6-10 years), preferably in the financial services industry.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and expertise in hands-on data analytics and sourcing data from multiple data platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and understanding of the end-to-end set-up of a dashboard as well as automated process setup for regular reporting processes is desirable.
  • Basic familiarity with tools/applications like Dataiku, Snowflake, Hadoop, DB2, Salesforce is a plus.
  • Keen focus on accuracy and analytical rigor as well as attention to detail, given the highly visibility nature of deliverables owned by the team; ability to reproduce previously shared metrics/numbers by organizing code, processes and creating validation procedures for key projects.
  • Track record of working independently and solving problems creatively with a strong sense of accountability and displaying a can-do attitude.
  • Strong skills in oral and written communication including experience in effectively and transparently communicating with colleagues and management in a different geographic location.
