About the Role

From global institutions to hedge funds, investors come to Morgan Stanley for sales, trading, and market-making services in almost every type of financial instrument in all the world's financial markets. Morgan Stanley professionals use our network and technology to provide liquidity and sophisticated analysis, to manage risk and execute reliably in the fast-changing markets.

Institutional Equities Division (IED) Structuring and Product development team is responsible for developing new trades, products, efficiencies and initiatives across the IED franchise in Asia. The team creates new revenue streams, trades & products, monetizes existing options and apply first principles approach to address firm policy interpretations that impact Asia IED.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Generation of value added and differentiated ideas
  • Build solid relationships with partner areas across IED such as Prime Brokerage, DSP and Derivatives
  • Interact closely with infrastructure groups to maximize value while maintaining appropriate risk levels for franchise
  • Perform quantitative analysis on specific projects and data sets as required
  • Prepare desk materials for internal presentations and support senior members of the team
  • Work with relevant clients, third-parties, trading, prime brokerage and ops on any day-to-day Structuring requirements for SPD products

Skills Required

  • 3+ years experience in professional environment post university
  • University degree
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically and thrive in a dynamic work environment
  • Entrepreneurial, creative, pro-active and results oriented mind-set
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across organizational boundaries
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
