We are looking to hire hands-on Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) to join our diverse, talented, high performance, and innovative Factory Delivery team within the Developer Success focus area. In this deeply technical role, you will lead technical conversations with customers and Microsoft colleagues, driving value to their organization. This is a hands-on role that includes accelerating customer adoption by building Github solutions and identifying resolutions to unblock customer success projects for the AI Factory. You will also drive product influence with Engineering through technical feedback via the Factory and increase technical intensity with the Field account teams. Responsibilities:
A Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) within the Factory Success team focused on Developer Success will be responsible for:
- Customer-Centric Approach:
Understand customers’ developer-centric priorities and success measures, with a focus on GitHub adoption and impact.
Innovate with Developer solutions that drive business value.
Facilitate scalable delivery through strong technical program management utilizing a factory model/approach, driving program awareness and demand across the regional operating units. Attend in-flight project status meetings to monitor progress and identify support needs. Engage directly with complex or non-standard customer use cases beyond existing accelerators. Participate in intake reviews for milestone sizing, objection handling, and technical scoping.
Ensure Solution Excellence: Deliver solutions with high performance, security, scalability, maintainability, repeatability, reusability, and reliability upon deployment. Gather insights from customers and partners.
- Business Impact:
Drive Consumption Growth: Develop opportunities to enhance Customer Success and help customers extract value from their Microsoft investments.
Operational Awareness: Understanding of consumption metrics and their reflection on program effectiveness. Ability to collaborate with local teams for nominations and intake support.
Unblock Customer Challenges: Leverage subject matter expertise to identify resolutions for customer blockers. Follow best practices and utilize repeatable IP.
Build repeatable IP and assets that create velocity in deployment and drive customer value from their Unified investment. Evaluate pilot opportunities for potential integration into existing offerings.
Architect Developer Solutions: Apply technical knowledge to design solutions aligned with business and IT needs. Create Developer roadmaps, lead POCs and MVPs, and ensure long-term technical viability.
- Technical Leadership:
Advocate for Customers: Share insights and best practices, collaborate with the Engineering team to address key blockers, and influence product improvements, roadmap and feature prioritization.
Resolve technical blockers: Debug technical issues and provide fixes for engagements encountering blockers.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on market trends, collaborate with the Developer and GitHub communities, and educate customers about the Microsoft’s Developer technologies.
Accelerate Outcomes: Through engaging with field teams, share expertise, contribute to IP creation, and promote reusability to accelerate customer success, as well as collate feedback on assets to drive improvement and leverage field teams inputs.
Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 3+ years’ experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or Business Applications consultingOR equivalent experience.
- English fluency, both oral and written.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Business Value: The ability to convey the business needs and value of proposed solutions, plans, and risks to stakeholders and decision makers. This includes the ability to persuade and inform based on facts and alignment with goals and strategy.
- Trusted Advisership: The ability to build trusted advisor status and deep relationships across stakeholders (e.g., technical decision makers, business decision makers) through an understanding of customer needs and technologies.
- Situational fluency: Using self-awareness as a mechanism to interpret verbal and non-verbal cues to increase your ability to "read the room."
- Insightful listening: asking insightful questions to understand the customer needs, issues, business environment and drivers, and going beyond what customer has said.
- Breadth of technical experience and knowledge in foundational security, DevOps practices, and architecture design, with depth / Subject Matter Expertise in one or more GitHub solution areas (e.g., Copilot, Advanced Security, Actions, or Enterprise Administration).:
- Deep Domain Expertise in GitHub: Advanced expertise in one or more GitHub solution areas—such as GitHub Copilot, Advanced Security, Enterprise Administration, or Actions, or hands-on experience working with these products at an expert level.
- Programming Languages and Integration: Proficient with Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar programming languages in the context of modern application development, with the ability to integrate GitHub into development workflows and platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, Codespaces, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Architecting Enterprise-Grade Solutions: Proven experience building enterprise-grade, Developer-focused solutions on the cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) for customers, from Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) leading to production deployments.
- DevOps and GitHub Workflows: Good understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD toolchains, with expertise in GitHub Actions, Codespaces, and workflow automation for enterprise-grade deployments.
- Core GitHub Concepts: Familiarity with foundational GitHub capabilities such as version control (Git), branching strategies, repository management, pull request workflows, and integration with popular developer tools (VS Code, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Security and Compliance with GitHub: Knowledge of GitHub Advanced Security, Dependabot, code scanning, and secret management. Understanding of secure software supply chain practices, compliance requirements, and governance.
- Competitive Landscape: Awareness of the broader DevOps and SCM ecosystem, including platforms like GitLab, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps, as well as the open-source ecosystem surrounding GitHub.
