As a Principal Category Supplier Manager, you will join our team in Indirect Procurement at Micron that manages the global IT and Professional Services at one of the world's largest semiconductor companies. We bring sophisticated new technologies and professional services expertise into Micron from many of the world’s leading companies who serve as our suppliers. This is an exciting, fast-paced area that is critical to the success of the company and has the attention of senior executives across Micron. Responsibilities:

Collaboration—You will collaborate with internal customers and external suppliers, crafting strategies to ensure a robust and efficient supply chain. As part of the team that sets strategy and direction for Micron globally, you will work with members of Micron's regional procurement teams at Micron sites around the world to implement strategies that you help develop.

Sourcing—You will source solutions and services. This work will include research on software, IT hardware and various service offerings. You will work within established processes to conduct RFx activities and demand management.

Strategy—You will be an important part of our team's work to build category strategies to drive savings, value, assurance of supply, quality and supplier performance within your assigned category.

Negotiation—You will take the lead in negotiating with suppliers and will work with our Legal team to complete contracts with suppliers. Your ability to drive alignment with team members and develop negotiation strategies will be critical for success.

Management—You will run Micron’s relationship with key suppliers and have responsibility for holding suppliers accountable, resolving issues and improving supplier performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor/Master Degree in Business, Business Administration/ Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics or similar fields of study.

5+ years' experience in a role focused full-time on procurement or contract negotiation.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for negotiation.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
-
Ability to work well in a dynamic environment that requires a high degree of multitasking with minimal direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
7+ years' experience as a Senior Category Supplier Manager at a semiconductor company.
-
Prior experience working in indirect procurement handling IT and Professional Services.
-
Proven experience managing and negotiating complex contracts.
