Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
As a Process Control Systems Engineer supporting the Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) Program, you will play a critical role in implementing real-time fault detection models that monitor the fab process and equipment health. The primary goal of our FDC systems are to proactively identify and reduce process variation, ensuring optimal equipment performance and process integrity.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with Process and Equipment Engineers to identify key sensors and features for monitoring and to drive automated closed-loop corrective actions. Your work will directly contribute to improving process and product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
You will also partner regularly with cross-functional teams—including IT, Process Integration, and Data Science Teams—to design and deploy scalable control strategies that transition seamlessly from technology development to high-volume manufacturing.
Are you curious and enjoy continually learning? Come join our team of dedicated engineers!
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Design and implement solutions to reduce process variation and develop systems that automate or simplify process control tasks
- Identify process requirements to design and deliver decision logic
- Write scripts to extract, shape and filter data for analysis to develop predictive and control models
- Proficiency in one or more scripting/web development languages a plus (e.g. JMP, Python, Java, JS, TS)
- Extracting data from different databases via SQL and other query languages and apply data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques
- Establish and maintain effective relationships
- Organize tasks for maximum efficiency, incorporating department priorities
- Coordinate and thoughtfully facilitate meetings and project teams
- Communicate complex analysis in a succinct and impactful manner
You have the following Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Statistical Process Control
- Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills to plan, drive and complete projects effectively
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detailed oriented and able to follow sophisticated procedures
- Identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency
- Ability to evolve skills via internal and external education opportunities
- The willingness to travel (maybe required at times)
- Experience in software testing/verification is a plus
- General knowledge of semiconductor processes and tools
Education and Experience:
A BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or an equivalent Micron job standing of Engineer or higher is required.
