Machine Learning Engineer Intern – Smart Manufacturing & AI (Micron Technology)

Join Micron Technology’s Smart Manufacturing and AI team as a Machine Learning Engineer Intern. In this role, you'll apply AI/ML to real-world manufacturing problems, explore data, deploy models, and learn how ML systems operate at scale. You’ll gain hands-on experience alongside ML engineers, data scientists, and data engineers, contributing to impactful solutions for global manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows for machine learning model development.
• Develop and optimize data structures and datasets in cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Google Cloud).
• Write clean, maintainable code for scalable MLOps implementation and internal tools.
• Support CI/CD workflows for model testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore data-driven solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrolled in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of ML concepts and algorithms.
• Experience with Python and ML libraries (Tensor Flow, Py Torch, scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of data structures, scripting, and software development fundamentals.
• Familiarity with SQL or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or projects in machine learning, data engineering, or cloud computing.
• Experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD workflows (school or personal projects).
• Exposure to big data concepts, data preprocessing, or ETL processes.
• Interest in computer vision, signal processing, or statistics.
• Strong communication skills and proactive learning mindset.
