Job Description – Manager, OMT Bench (M2)1. Purpose
The OMT Bench M2 Manager is responsible for leading the overall strategy, development roadmap, operational execution, and cross‑site integration of OMT Bench capabilities. This role ensures alignment with global and Asia Bench visions, drives technical advancement of repair capabilities, and strengthens cost‑saving contributions across Micron.
This position provides functional leadership to M1 managers, engineers, and technicians, and serves as the primary interface to Central Bench, Fab support teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA.
OMT Bench Strategy & Organization Leadership:
-
Develop and execute the multi‑year OMT Bench capability roadmap aligned with global and Asia Bench directions.
-
Oversee all OMT Bench operations, staffing, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
-
Lead M1 managers / engineers in establishing a scalable bench structure with clear accountability and resource optimization.
B.
Repair Capability Development:
-
Drive development of key repair competencies including: valves, pneumatics, actuators, electrical systems, power supply, PCB, robotics, machining parts, surface treatment/coating, CMP/WET components, chiller and pump systems.

Establish and standardize repair SOPs, troubleshooting guidelines, and BKM across sites.
-
Identify new technologies and industry trends to expand in‑house repair depth and breadth.
C. Global & Cross‑Site Collaboration
-
Collaborate with Central Bench, ID1, F10, F6 Electronics Shop, and other site benches to execute the Global Bench roadmap.

Lead or support development of specialized capabilities (e.g., AOI & cleaning, CMP head rebuild, generator & RF match).

Align cross‑site technical maturity and jointly drive capability deployment.

Operational Management & Cost Optimization:
-
Oversee daily repair operations ensuring quality, throughput, safety, and delivery commitments.
-
Drive company‑wide cost‑saving initiatives through in‑house development, alternative sourcing, and process optimization.

Review repair performance, FA data, COA, lifetime analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Stakeholder Communication & Business Alignment:
- Provide regular performance reports, strategic updates, and proposal recommendations to leadership.
- Coordinate with functional teams (FST, PAC, WH, TPM, ME, operations) for capability support and execution alignment.
- Support audit readiness, compliance programs, and new fab ramp requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Materials Science, or related technical field.

7 years of engineering, maintenance, repair technology development, or fab operations experience.

Demonstrated leadership in supervising multi‑level technical teams and managing complex operations.
-
Strong understanding of equipment components such as valves, pneumatics, electrical systems, machining components, automation control, surface treatment/coating, and robotics.
-
Ability to lead teams through fast‑paced, dynamic environments and deliver sustainable solutions.
-
Effective communication skills in English for collaboration with global bench partners.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading Bench, repair engineering, or component refurbishment organizations.
- Familiarity with fab support (FST), PAC, warehouse/parts management, TPM functions, or supply chain interactions.
- Experience in global capability deployment, BKM standardization, or multi‑site technical program leadership.
- Knowledge of analytics, cost modeling, alternative sourcing evaluation, and process automation.
- Exposure to emerging technologies such as AOI, robotics integration, or digital automation for repair processes.
