Role Overview
The Digital Solutions Designer – Procurement Automation is a hands‑on design and build role responsible for creating intuitive, scalable, and user‑centered digital solutions that support Global Procurement workflows, automation initiatives, and operational productivity.
This role focuses on designing and building low‑code applications and digital experiences using platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, Mendix and Share Point, with a strong emphasis on user experience (UX), visual design, and usability. The Digital Solutions Designer translates business needs into well‑designed applications that reduce manual effort, simplify processes, and accelerate adoption of automation and analytics.
This is not an IT role. The role partners closely with Procurement users, Automation Analysts, BI teams, Data Governance, and IT to ensure solutions align with approved platforms, security standards, intake processes, and architectural guardrails.
Key Responsibilities
Application & Experience Design
- Design intuitive, user‑friendly digital solutions that align with Procurement workflows and user needs.
- Apply strong UX/UI design principles, including layout, navigation, accessibility, and visual consistency.
- Use professional design software (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar) to create:Wireframes
- User flows
- Mockups and design prototypes
- Ensure designs prioritize usability, clarity, and adoption—not just functionality.
Low‑Code Application Development
- Design and build applications using approved low‑code platforms, including:** Microsoft Power Apps**
- Power Automate
- Mendix
- Develop forms, screens, workflows, and lightweight logic to support process automation and data capture.
- Partner with Automation Analysts to ensure solutions are technically sound, scalable, and maintainable.
- Follow established design patterns, templates, and platform standards.
Share Point Design & Enablement
- Design and configure Share Point sites, pages, lists, and forms to support:Business workflows
- Intake and request processes
- Knowledge sharing and documentation
- Team collaboration
- Apply Share Point design best practices to ensure:Clear information architecture
- Consistent branding and layout
- Strong usability across desktop and mobile experiences
- Enhance existing Share Point solutions to improve usability and adoption.
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Work closely with Procurement stakeholders to understand requirements and iterate designs based on feedback.
- Participate in agile delivery activities, including:
- Backlog refinement
- Sprint planning
- Design reviews and demos
- Collaborate with BI, Data Governance, and Automation teams to ensure solutions align with data standards and automation objectives.
- Support user testing, validation, and refinement prior to production release.
Standards, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Document application designs, user flows, and configuration details.
- Ensure solutions align with intake processes, security guidelines, and approved platforms.
- Continuously improve designs based on:
- User feedback
- Adoption metrics
- Evolving business needs
- Stay current on enhancements to Power Platform, Mendix, Share Point, and low‑code design best practices.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Information Systems, Computer Science, Human‑Computer Interaction, or a related field (required).
- Formal training or certification in UX/UI design, low‑code platforms, or digital product design is a plus.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience designing and building business applications, workflows, or digital solutions.
- Hands‑on experience with one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Power Platform
- Mendix
- Share Point (design and configuration)
- Experience designing user interfaces for internal enterprise or business applications.
- Exposure to agile or iterative delivery environments.
Technical & Design Skills
- Strong proficiency in:
- Power Apps and Power Automate
- Share Point design (sites, pages, lists, forms)
- Low code application design patterns
- Practical experience using design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear designs and functional applications.
- Basic understanding of how applications interact with data sources and workflows.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong design sensibility with attention to usability, clarity, and consistency.
- Ability to simplify complex processes into intuitive digital experiences.
- Comfortable working cross‑functionally and incorporating stakeholder feedback.
- Clear communicator who can explain design decisions to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and delivery‑focused.
