IE Planning EngineerはF15全体の生産計画の最適化を目的とし、生産能力の最大化につながる効率的な設備投資計画を提案・計画する。またその計画に基づく予算の提案・管理も行う。

主な職種はArea Capacity Planning, Capital Planning, Change Control Planningなどがあり、以下の例のように職務内容・必要スキルが異なるため面談を通じて詳細を説明する。

• Engineering, Operation, Procurement, Facility部門などと連携して生産設備のパフォーマンスとキャパシティーを監視およびモデル化。将来のキャパシティ予測とパフォーマンスのギャップを特定し、それらのギャップを解決するためのソリューションを提案して、最適なシステムパフォーマンスを確保する（Area Capacity Planning）
• 生産計画を達成するために必要な設備投資計画の策定及び、予算化し、予算内で必要な設備投資が遂行できるように予算を管理する (Capital Planning)
• FAB全体の生産能力、ボトルネックを分析・特定し、最も効率のよい生産計画及び投資計画の企画・立案をする。また計画から実行までの設備導入計画の変更管理を行う（Change Control）
• 複数の関係部署にまたがるプロジェクトがスムーズに計画から実行に移せるように中心となりドライブする (共通)

必須条件：

• 学士号または同等の経験

• エンジニアリングまたはオペレーションで3年以上の経験

• データ分析を使用した意思決定スキル

• 日本語能力 JLTP N2以上
