Job Description:

For our location in Boxmeer, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a: Senior Specialist Industrial Hygiene Welcome to Our Team

Our production and R&D facilities in Boxmeer and De Bilt are part of our global Animal Health network. Here we develop, manufacture, and package animal health products in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Boxmeer, with more than 2,000 employees, is the largest site in our global Animal Health network.
  • Our Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department (~21 employees) provides safety and environmental support for both locations to achieve world-class EHS performance.
  • Within EHS, a team of 7 specialists focuses on Biosafety & Industrial Hygiene.

Purpose of the Role

As Senior Specialist Industrial Hygiene, you report to the Manager Biosafety & Industrial Hygiene and act as her right hand. You will collaborate closely with leaders in Manufacturing, R&D and Engineering, and will also be responsible for improving industrial hygiene programs across multiple sites.

You play a crucial role in:

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Providing expert guidance and support in industrial hygiene practices.
  • Leading and implementing all site IH programs.
  • Supporting (capital) engineering projects and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create IH plans that meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative IH assessments or coordinate contracted services.
  • Prioritize IH-related risks and develop corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Monitor and communicate progress to EHS leadership and site management.
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
  • Maintain technical competencies and regulatory knowledge.
  • Ensure effective communication about hazards, exposures, and control strategies.
  • Provide technical support for new projects (design review, containment verification).
  • Conduct IH self-assessments/audits.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Education**:** Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene (Master’s degree is a plus), preferably combined with Ergonomics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing risks related to high-potency pharmaceutical compounds and containment systems.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Excellent technical leadership and communication skills (English, oral and written).
