Mars Petcare (Greenies) is looking to hire a Utility Operator WIP at our climate-controlled Kansas City, MO location!

The Utility WIP Operator is responsible for general packaging, forklift operations, administrative tasks, and other basic production duties as assigned. May be required to operate other production equipment as needed.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Forklift operations is required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic computer skills – Preferably i Pad

  • Basic math and measuring skills; enjoys hands-on working environment and problem-solving

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; must be coachable

  • Passion to work and learn in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to adapt to changing environment – Resiliency

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and have full mobility to climb stairs and ladders

What will be your key responsibilities?

Conducting basic manufacturing activities to support the production and packaging of Greenies and Pill Pockets. This includes but not limited to the following activities:

  • Moving product from one area to another manually and while using a forklift

  • Conducting and managing inventory and other administrative duties as required

  • Demonstrate a food safety quality culture in actions, words and spirit.

  • Conducting problem-solving and troubleshooting as necessary.

  • Assisting with basic preventative maintenance work as assigned (CIL’s)

  • Wearing the required Mars uniform and PPE.

  • Building, filling, weighing and labeling pallets and totes

  • Conduct sanitation activities as required

  • Provide informal leadership to temporary associates throughout the production process

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with a positive attitude. Must be reliable, conscientious, punctual, and have a good work ethic. No previous manufacturing experience is required but must have the mechanical aptitude to succeed.
