As a Sea Logistics Sales Representative, your primary responsibility is to identify, pursue and close new business sales opportunities, to achieve sales targets and KPIs that drive growth.

Your primary focus and priority is to secure new business opportunities for Sea freight, with specific focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).

You will collaborate closely with the wider Sea Logistics Business Unit to achieve the overarching goal of an extraordinary customer focus and experience, of which both are crucial to the success of Kuehne+Nagel’s Roadmap 2026 and Vision 2030.

How you create impact

  • Identify new business prospects, and complete discovery calls to understand their needs and fit as a potential customer
  • Engage in online and physical meetings with potential customers to build relationships
  • Create and convert a strong pipeline of prospects and opportunities to deliver on sales targets and KPIs
  • Ensure up to date and relevant customer information, sales activities and growth potential is transparent in CoreLog
  • Act as a consultant for customers and as a sea logistics subject matter expert, including developing and delivering sales proposals and presentations on Kuehne+Nagel products and services.
  • Build end-to-end solutions based on Kuehne+Nagel’s sea logistics services and solutions as well as online platform myKN
  • Provide quotations in collaboration and alignment with the National Sea Logistics Revenue Manager
  • Facilitate the implementation of new and additional business alongside the Sea Logistics Implementation and Customer Care Teams
  • Conduct research regarding market potentials as well as share customer feedback with internal stakeholders
  • Monitor the development of booked, shipped and invoiced volumes of your accounts
  • Foster the collaboration and sharing of best practices with your colleagues in the community of Sea Logistics Sales Representatives

  • Solid understanding of international freight processes, specifically in Sea Logistics
  • Proven track record in solutions sales with proven success in gaining new business and growing margins
  • Demonstrated ability to form and maintain strong trusting working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, coupled with the ability to relate to potential customers to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, coupled with impeccable personal presentation and the ability to listen effectively.
  • Ambitious and driven to exceed sales targets and KPIs
  • Technology savvy and ability to learn new packages, systems and innovative technological solutions
  • Demonstrated ability of managing time and resources effectively and deliver to agreed deadlines.
