When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. But that is not all. Your work also helps ensure that vital medicines reach patients on time and supports other essential deliveries, from wind turbines to semiconductors. You will be part of our Air Logistics Team to add your expertise + skills to the delivery of Customer + Product Excellence.

Your primary objective is to drive + grow the perishables product by developing a strategy to gain + retain customers.

How you create impact

You will do this by working with a variety of internal + external stakeholders while focusing on the following key objectives.

  • To ensure your local product strategy aligns with the regional strategy while fitting the local market.
  • To build a local operational structure dedicated to the perishable product within the customer + operational care locations (CCL + OCC) that creates + maintains perishable expertise, aiming for zero operational failures for temperature sensitive cargo.
  • To ensure profitability across the profit + loss statement (P+L), proactively following up on discrepancies.
  • To manage local carrier relationships; ensuring access to appropriate escalation channels.
  • To take the lead in local perishable pricing in coordination with the regional team.
  • To identify gaps in perishable knowledge through the local market + pro-actively support improvement via trainings, marketing campaigns + general presentations.

What we would like you to bring

  • Minimum of 8–9 years of experience in supply chain management, with a strong focus on perishable logistics.

  • Proven experience in managing client relationships, particularly within the perishable goods sector.

  • Strong team management and leadership skills.

  • Multilingual, with fluency in at least one South Indian language (e.g., Tamil) preferred.

  • Sound knowledge of perishable products, handling requirements, and related logistics best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
