It's more than a job

As a Customs Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, your job is to optimise logistics to keep our global supply chains running smoothly. But the impact of your work goes beyond that. In fact, your expertise makes both special and ordinary moments possible for people around the world. For example, your work could ensure that a global product launch happens on time—such as ethically sourced beauty and bath products stocked at local stores for your loved one's valued self-care routine. It's import and export work, but it's also so much more than we imagine.

How you create impact

The Customs Brokerage Supervisor oversees daily operations within the customs brokerage team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of entries with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This role combines hands‑on entry writing responsibilities with leadership duties, supporting both team performance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Supervise and support a team of Customs Brokerage Entry Writers.
  • Assign daily tasks, accounts, and workload distribution.
  • Run ad hoc reports as needed to support operational visibility and performance.
  • Assist the Customs Brokerage Manager with managerial and administrative responsibilities.
  • Analyze import documents and accurately key data to process entries with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • Locate and review necessary documents, determine proper classification, and transmit customs entries accurately.
  • Communicate daily with internal team members to ensure smooth workflow and issue resolution.
  • Open new files when required and complete associated billing.
  • Adhere to all U.S. Customs regulations and requirements from other regulatory agencies.

What we would like you to bring

  • Minimum of 4 years of customs entry writing experience.
  • Proven team lead or supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and solid math capabilities.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as business needs arise.
