How you create impact
The Sea Logistics Intermodal Specialist plays a key role in coordinating container loadings, managing documentation, monitoring deadlines, and supporting customer care teams. You will maintain strong relationships with carriers, terminals, and internal departments while ensuring compliance with sea transport regulations and national standards.
- Monitor incoming delivery orders from OCC Export, internal teams, and customers.
- Assign and dispatch shipments to approved truckers in a timely manner.
- Track ERDs, cutoffs, and terminal requirements to ensure smooth FCL export loadings.
- Verify empty pick‑up locations and assist truckers with rail billing submissions.
- Liaise with ocean carriers, CN/CP Rail, port terminals, and trucking terminals to resolve issues.
- Maintain strong working relationships with trucking partners.
- Update daily shipment statuses to ensure departmental KPIs are met.
- Enter all costs and revenues accurately and communicate with internal/external stakeholders.
- Support accounting with documentation for billing and extra charges.
- Collaborate with CCL on SOPs, SLAs, and special customer arrangements.
- Resolve operational issues to prevent service failures and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support operational efficiency.

What we would like you to bring

Experience in freight forwarding or supply chain, ideally within Sea Logistics, with knowledge of operations, regulations, Incoterms, sea freight markets, origin booking, CFS consolidation, and last‑mile milestones

Collaborative, solutions‑oriented team player with strong problem‑solving abilities, adaptability, a customer‑focused mindset, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement

Understanding of financial and commercial decision‑making

Proficient in MS Excel and Outlook

Certifications such as CIFFA, CITT, or PLog are considered an asset

Base wage is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
