We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to advance your software engineering career.
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, responsible for designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will implement critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions to support the firm's business objectives.
You will join the Payments Market Expansion team that is responsible for onboarding and implementing solutions for payment business in new markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement Java-based applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, promoting high-quality code and efficient development processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing guidance and support to junior developers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Java technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into the development process as appropriate.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the overall technical strategy of the organization.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects, managing resources and priorities effectively.
- Be technically minded and intellectually curious, with a desire to develop a deep understanding of our applications, technology, and the business that we support.
- Experience in supporting production systems, investigating, and resolving complex technical issues.
Technical Skills Required:
- Strong technical skills and hands-on experience are essential.
- Experience in test automation and continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Experience with microservices-based, highly scalable systems.
- Strong understanding of principles for creating asynchronous and multithreaded systems.
- Experience in creating highly scalable, reliable, and robust systems available 24/7.
- Minimum 8-12 years of Java/J2EE development experience on large/medium-sized projects.
- Strong fundamentals in Core Java and related technologies.
- Enterprise-scale messaging experience in JMS or derived JMS technologies.
- Experience in distributed messaging technology like Kafka, IBM MQ, etc.
- Experience in database design and working knowledge of Oracle.
- Experience in AWS cloud and Kubernetes.
Other Non-Technical Skills:
- A degree in an engineering or computer science discipline is preferred.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
- Banking domain knowledge with a preference for payment systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading technical development teams for project delivery.
- Culturally sensitive in a role that spans regions and time zones.
