Job Description:

The EH&S department of J&J Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Staff Expert Occupational Safety to support the Engineering and Property Services (E&PS) and Deliver Organizations on the Site in Beerse, Belgium.

About the role

As a Staff Occupational Safety at Beerse site, a member of the E&PS and Deliver EHS team, you will work for the backbone of the site, the supporting organizations.

· The E&PS FM team manages the critical installations, facilities and utilities (steam, cooling installations, heating equipment, water systems, compressed air, high voltage, …) of/for the Beerse and Olen manufacturing sites.

· The E&PS Project Deliver team plans and delivers capital projects, process modifications, managing construction and commissioning.

· The Deliver team runs the Beerse distribution center for inbound/outbound logistics, storage, order picking, palletizing and vehicle movements to ensure our finished pharmaceutical products move reliably from our sites to patients globally

You support and advise the site in implementation of Occupational Safety policies and practices.

Key responsibilities

· You will have ownership for specific EH&S programs linked to Occupational or Technical Safety: for example, Work permits, Contractors, Confined Space, LOTOTO, Hot Work and Fall Prevention

· You will address as first point of contact daily related to EHS questions, investigation, technical changes, and continuous improvement initiatives for our customers.

· Legal commissioning and all the administration that goes with it of new or modified equipment/workplaces.

· Support of the operational project teams in their actions: guidance/participation in risk assessments (incl. HAZOP, JSA,…).

· You are part of a dynamic team of EHS experts with a focus on controlling all chemical, physical, process safety and occupational hazards as part of the bigger EHS team.

· Calling in expert colleagues where necessary: e.g. fire brigade, IH, PSM and ergonomics.

· You promote a culture of continuous improvement and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of operational and EH&S processes including focus on Human Operational Performance.

· You assist internal and external EH&S audits and inspections.

· You participate in an on-call system in the context of internal emergency planning at the Beerse site.

Qualification

· Education

o You are technical bachelor or equivalent through experience.

o You are prevention advisor level 1 or 2.

· Experience and Skill

o You have knowledge and seasoned experience EH&S in a highly regulated industrial context.
