Role Purpose

JLL are looking to recruit a trade qualified Painter with a background in either facilities or of that of a general handyman, this role will include painting (70% of the time) with the other duties made up of general facilities duties including moving furniture and other physical duties as well as supporting the wider team with tasks as needed.

What this job involves

  • The Facilities Technician/Painter works as part of a facilities team and will be directly accountable for the following typical activities:
  • Work with the onsite facilities team to ensure planned preventative and reactive tasks are completed
  • Perform all painting duties in line with building requirements
  • Support wider events team in terms of set ups/screens/props etc
  • Regularly work with external contractors, e.g. M&E contractor, cleaning, AV, fit out contractors etc
  • Resolve facilities related problems with conference rooms, interior furnishings, fixtures and equipment.
  • Provides support for the wider facilities and events team in terms of updating tasks/supporting vendors
  • Perform fabric related repairs including handyman repairs, building of items required within the office, painting works etc
  • Carry out quality audits of across all offices including furniture and equipment on a regular basis, logging all issues and ensuring actions are completed on time
  • Provide support for meetings and conference room repairs, bathroom repairs, MK and restaurant repairs
  • Act collaboratively to solve problems and resolve spontaneous and unique situations with professionalism and service orientation.
  • Ensure completion of daily checks and delivery of committed services and overall client satisfaction Demonstrate responsiveness and creativity in finding solutions for service delivery
  • Ensure appropriate follow up with customers
  • Seek to continuously improve processes, systems and overall client satisfaction
  • Work with the internal Task system to keep track of all requested Facilities work and close out actions
  • according to SLAs.
  • Work as part overall FM team on facilities related tasks including first line fix, post room support, events support, replacement of light bulbs and manual handling
  • Ad hoc duties from time to time to support the rest of the facilities team

What this job involves:

This position reports to the Hard Services Lead and is responsible for managing day-to-day helpdesk requests, reactive moves, and churns while demonstrating high-level security awareness and knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures. You will handle operational expertise including trouble ticket responses, IT equipment setup assistance, and small works covering painting, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks. This role contributes to JLL's business objectives by ensuring efficient building operations, maintaining health and safety compliance, and supporting the facilities team to deliver excellent service that enhances client satisfaction and operational continuity.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Handle helpdesk requests and answer trouble tickets while assisting IT support with new hire equipment setup on desks

  • Perform small works including painting, locks, handles, door closers, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, deliveries, and collections

  • Complete general janitorial duties including unblocking toilets, rubbish removal, and replacing defective light bulbs

  • Manage internal moves and churns while understanding and complying with site health and safety requirements at all times

  • Wear suitable PPE where required and understand all risks associated with undertaken tasks while carrying out relevant risk assessments

  • Conduct building fabric audits and support BOC and facilities team while maintaining BMS/system knowledge

  • Collate monthly utility meter readings and assist security personnel on occasion as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience including good DIY skills with some carpentry skills and basic electrical knowledge

  • Minimum leaving certificate education with problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with spreadsheet and word processing proficiency

  • Customer-focused approach with assertive communication style and cultural awareness and sensitivity

  • Experience dealing with helpdesk requests and trouble ticket systems

  • Understanding of health and safety requirements with ability to work safely and carry out risk assessments

  • Knowledge of PPE requirements and emergency evacuation procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed building technician certification or relevant trade qualifications

  • Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) and utility management

  • Background in facilities management or building operations environments

  • Knowledge of internal moves and churn processes in corporate settings

  • Experience with building fabric audits and maintenance procedures

  • Understanding of IT equipment setup and support processes

  • Familiarity with security procedures and protocols.
