About the job
PURPOSE
Responsible for ensuring the overall quality of translated and localized content. Also responsible for identifying, analyzing, tracking and fixing quality issues formatting wise for multilingual projects managed and delivered by the IQVIA™ Translation Services team.
The Resource Manager must inspect and check files and pages in various languages to ensure it is a workable source for the specialists. He/she works effectively with other members of the IQVIA™ Translation Services team as well as with external resources to deliver high-standard correctly formatted files. The Resource Manager enjoys working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and is a strong team player who always remains focused and very organized. The Resource Manager works closely with the Associate Director, the Project Managers, and the Head of Operational Excellence as well as with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the workflow of the incoming jobs for the team, equitably assigning tasks to each team member ensuring no project is missing, taking on jobs him/herself as needed
  • Pre-check each project file for cleanliness, determine if the deadline is feasible, negotiate with the Project Manager for an extension if needed
  • Manage capacity of the team by monitoring workload and raising red flags to the Team Lead
  • Monitor mailbox and answers queries/concerns from requestors/PMs
  • Providing timely communication between relevant departments
  • Monitoring current traffic processes and inputting ideas on how to improve current practices where required
  • Work with Team Leads, CD members, and the Head of Operational Excellence to document major quality issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of QC and QA processes in the translation and localization supply chain.
  • Provide direction and feedback to resources during shifts
  • Collaborate with other Resource Managers for coordination of handovers and complex projects requiring multiple resources
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Fluency in English – written and spoken
  • Proven experience working with projects involving large amounts of content is a must
  • Knowledge of software QA, QC, DTP and/or OCR methodologies, tools, and processes is a
  • must
  • Experience using content editing tools i.e., In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Articulate and/or Captivate, and audio visual types is a strong asset
  • Training experience is a strong asset
  • Should be fair and unbiased to maintain a positive work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving actions
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, as part of a team and with diverse teams
  • Experience as a translator, a linguist and/or a DTP specialist is a strong asset
  • Experience in project management beneficial
  • Experience working in international environments
  • MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in a linguistic, business, graphics, or scientific field
  • 3 or more years of experience with QC and QA processes in the language services industry including DTP tasks.
