Your role and responsibilities
A Service Now Application Architect is a senior technical professional responsible for designing, overseeing, and guiding the development and implementation of complex applications within the Service Now platform. This role ensures that business requirements are translated into scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions that align with both best practices and organizational goals.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Now Application Architect to lead the design and implementation of Service Now solutions that align with business and IT strategies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the Service Now platform and experience architecting scalable, secure, and high-performing applications across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and/or other Service Now modules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and design the overall architecture of Service Now solutions to meet business requirements
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical designs using Service Now best practices
  • Lead application architecture reviews and provide guidance on configuration vs. customization
  • Serve as the technical authority on Service Now integrations with external systems (REST, SOAP, MID Servers, etc.)
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers, and platform administrators
  • Ensure Service Now solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture standards and governance
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Service Now platform capabilities, roadmaps, and release cycles
  • Guide development teams in building workflows, business rules, UI policies, and custom applications
  • Participate in client or stakeholder workshops to define solution scope and architecture
  • Ensure performance, security, and scalability of applications and integrations
  • This job can be performed from anywhere in the US

Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience with Service Now platform implementation and architecture
  • Strong understanding of Service Now modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, Sec Ops, or CSM
  • Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) required
  • Service Now Certified Application Developer and/or Certified Implementation Specialist preferred
  • Experience designing solutions within large enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Experience with Domain Separation and multi-instance architecture
  • Knowledge of CMDB design and data modeling
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and frameworks
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, government)

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
