The Senior Financial Analytics Professional manages data to support and influence business decisions. This role will require strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to solve complex problems. SQL and Excel expertise will be utilized to build and enhance models related to our financial accrual process.

The HQRI Finance team supports Humana’s Healthcare Quality Reporting and Improvement business area, part of the Medicare and Medicaid business. The Finance team develops revenue and risk score projections for bids and budgets, evaluates changes in Medicare and Medicaid regulations and payment models, monitors and reports on risk adjustment data submissions, and supports HQRI operations.

The Senior Financial Analytics Professional will manage data to support and influence decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning and specific business performance issues related to our financial accrual process (over $5B in value). Strong technical skills and problem-solving skills will be needed to identify and explain variances and trends as well as enhance modeling techniques. This role will work closely with team members to solve complex problems through collaboration.

• Compile, model, interpret and analyze data in order to identify, explain, influence variances and trends.
• Evaluate current modeling techniques and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Provide accurate and timely analysis to help with business decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 3 years technical experience working with financial modeling using SQL and Excel (i.e. pivot tables, analytical trends).
• Proven experience developing and maintaining analytical models.
• Must be able to explain variances and trends and enhance modeling techniques.
• Proven experience collaborating with others.
• Experience working with moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Medicare Advantage – risk adjustment or Stars
• Degree in business, finance, analytics, or related field; or equivalent experience

Work-At-Home Requirements:

• At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
• Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$89,000 - $121,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
