Snapshot
This is a career-defining opportunity to take on a senior role within the existing Assistant team supporting the Co-Founder and CEO of Google Deep Mind. Please read this section carefully before applying as this is not a traditional Executive Assistant role. We are seeking a true business partner with exceptional judgment, meticulous attention to detail and the resilience to thrive under immense pressure. Supporting a leader of this prominence requires a departure from the traditional 9-to-5 model and the role requires flexibility as the schedule dictates. You won’t be working alone however. You will be part of a high performing team that collaborates seamlessly to ensure the CEO is supported 24/7 through a highly coordinated effort. Within the Office of the CEO this role will form a team of three Assistants; two in London and one in New York.
About Us
Artificial Intelligence could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions. At Google Deep Mind, we’re a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority.
The Role
Key responsibilities:
-
Global Continuity & Scheduling: You will manage a complex, high-volume, and ever-changing calendar. You are entrusted to assess the strategic weight of every meeting, proactively shield the CEO’s focus, and triage urgent issues, acting as an escalation point for the team. You will coordinate closely with your global counterpart(s) to ensure coverage across time zones.
-
Complex Logistics & Travel: You will execute intricate international travel arrangements, often with short notice. You will anticipate logistical challenges and provide on-the-ground support when required. Note: This role includes international travel.
-
Stakeholder & Diplomacy: You will act as a strategic guardian and ambassador for the CEO. You will cultivate trusted relationships with a global network of stakeholders including Heads of State, Nobel laureates, the Alphabet C-Suite, and the world's leading academic minds. Your communication and diplomacy must be flawless.
-
Strategic Communication: You will serve as a critical extension of the CEO, expertly prioritising emails, delegating action items and ensuring he is briefed and prepared for every interaction.
-
Strategic Judgement: You will exercise autonomous judgment to validate calculated risks that drive momentum, while acting as a decisive guardrail to prevent unnecessary risks
-
Project Leadership: You will drive critical projects from conception to completion in a highly ambiguous and fast-moving environment. You will work across the CEO’s business and Private teams to ensure that his life runs as a single, cohesive ecosystem. Leveraging deep context you will preemptively identify risks and deploy solutions to ensure uninterrupted momentum.
-
Operational Architecture: You will design, build and refine the operational infrastructure that powers the Office of the CEO. You will proactively identify areas of friction and engineer scalable workflows to elevate the administrative team’s performance.
About You
This role would suit a seasoned strategic partner who thrives in high-velocity environments. With an extensive background supporting C-Suite leaders at a global scale, you possess the sophistication to navigate complex organisational structures with ease.
-
You have a significant and demonstrable track record supporting a world-renowned Founder, CEO, or equivalent principal in a high-intensity, global environment.
-
You are able to seamlessly reprioritise with calm and composure and you approach sudden schedule changes as a logistical puzzle to be solved, not a disruption.
-
You are a strategic force multiplier who sees the patterns others miss, consistently staying two steps ahead. Your ability to distinguish impact from activity ensures focus remains on critical objectives.
-
You bring a ‘whatever it takes’ attitude and seamlessly toggle between driving high-level initiatives and the more granular administrative minutiae with equal precision and dedication.
-
You recognise that elite support is not a 9-to-5 endeavour. You possess the flexibility to align with the CEO’s schedule, including evening and weekend coverage as required.
-
You are a driver of operational excellence, with impeccable judgement and ironclad discretion.
-
You thrive in ambiguity and bring order to chaos. You are resilient, calm under pressure and operate with a low ego and high integrity.
-
You’re able to operate in lockstep with the wider administrative team and the Private Office to create a seamless bridge between professional commitments and personal logistics.
-
You are results-driven and action oriented, able to work at pace with accuracy and take initiative to deliver exceptional outcomes.
-
You are a master of your craft, with deep expertise in managing complex calendaring, global travel, and the G-Suite of tools.
-
You have a genuine and deep interest in the mission of Google Deep Mind and the use of AI tools to further enhance your impact.
At Google Deep Mind, we value diversity of experience, knowledge, backgrounds and perspectives and harness these qualities to create extraordinary impact. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis as protected by applicable law. If you have a disability or additional need that requires accommodation, please do not hesitate to let us know.
