    The HIV Senior Therapeutic Specialist (Sr TS)/ Therapeutic Specialist (TS) is responsible for managing and growing an HIV-focused territory covering the Greater Montreal Area (GMA), other urban centers in Quebec, as well as Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. The role focuses on driving sales performance through strong customer engagement, strategic territory planning, and deep therapeutic expertise.
    Key responsibilities include achieving sales, coverage, and frequency targets; promoting Gilead products through in-depth disease and product knowledge; and building strong relationships with high-prescribing healthcare professionals and thought leaders. The Sr TS /TS develops and executes territory business plans, analyzes sales data, monitors performance, and manages budgets for customer engagement and events.
    The role requires close collaboration with internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Medical Science Liaisons and Marketing), participation in professional events, and occasional leadership in team projects or mentoring. Strong pharmaceutical sales experience, relevant therapeutic knowledge, administrative excellence, and strict compliance with regulatory and legal requirements are essential.

Specific Responsibilities and skills for Position:

The Sr TS /TS will be responsible for establishing a territory of high prescribing HIV treaters in the GMA and other urban Quebec cities. In addition, the successful candidate will also be responsible for both Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

Responsible for achieving coverage and frequency targets and consistently achieving sales targets in assigned territory.

Represents Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base within a specific geographic area.

Utilizes an in–depth level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals. Prepares business plan for own territory, assigns targets and communicates required actions to achieve goals.

May assist others with their individual plans and is productive at developing in-depth market interpretation of sales analysis data. Initiates systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.

Manages territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures.

May work in collaboration with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services.

May represent company at professional events and promote company products at such events.

Works cooperatively with Medical Science Liaisons, Marketing and other internal Gilead team members on various cross-functional projects related to specific accounts or physicians.

Works as an individual contributor.

Forms, builds and extends professional business relationships with key customers or accounts.

Effectively networks for product with thought leaders.

Organizes sales initiatives within the market as directed and follows up on these to ensure their successful completion. Sets a positive example for others to follow.

May take the lead on projects within team e.g. liaison role with marketing, meetings coordinator etc.

May participate in the development and mentoring of less experienced team members.

Completes necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner e.g. updating customer database, expenses etc.

Pharmaceutical industry selling experience is essential and relevant therapeutic knowledge is required.

Responsible for achieving the competency levels required in the role. Compliance with all regulatory agencies, state, and federal law is required.

Responsible for collecting and reporting of adverse drug reactions/complaints to Patient Safety

Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Requires a BA or BS degree and minimum of 6 - 8 years of relevant selling experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry with at least 4 years in specialty sales or the appropriate therapeutic area.

A minimum of 2 years as a Therapeutic Specialist is preferred.

Must be self-motivated and able to work with a high level of autonomy and independence.

Serves as technical expert of assigned product, therapeutic classes, and patient needs in order to educate/influence key physicians.

This position requires knowledge of industry trends and competitor’s resources and practices.

Must be able to proactively identify issues, opportunities, and resolutions and is able to present and effectively communicate issues and recommendations to marketing and sales management
